Experimental high energy physics is the study of elementary particles and their interactions at the smallest distance scales available. My current research uses data from the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to pin down the nature of the Higgs boson. As part of that effort, I also contribute to the day-to-day operation of the CMS detector and construction of the High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL), a new kind of calorimeter for the High Luminosity LHC.
