Todd Adams' Post-doctoral Research

Topic

I worked on FNAL 815, NuTeV. NuTeV is an experiment which studied neutrino interactions at FNAL Lab E. I did a lot of work on heavy quark production, including diffractive charm production, DIS charm production and DIS bottom production. I also worked on a search for new particles in the neutrino beam.

I am also working on Monte Carlo simulations for the proposed Next Linear Collider (NLC). This work is focussing on studies involving the vertex detector.

Diffractive Charm Analysis

I performed an analysis of dimuon events with low-hadronic energy. These events are created via diffractive charm production, DIS charm production, neutrino trident production and various other small sources. The measurement of diffractive charm production is this sample is a new contribution to the analysis of this data type.

Dimuon Analysis

I have worked on charmed hadron decay models for the dimuon analysis. Charm decay is the primary source of dimuon events and the model is improved to include experimental results of the past 10 years.

Neutral Current Analysis

I have worked on charm production at the primary target. Charm production and decays are an important source of electron neutrino contamination to the NC beam.
