Welcome to the CTEQ Page of Top Ten Lists! In the nearly thirty years since the theory of quantum chromodynamics was created, it has successfully passed many tests. Indeed, some would say that it is our most perfect theory! (Wilczek, 1999) During the intervening years QCD has come to play an indispensable role in our understanding of high energy physics processes. There are, nonetheless, gaps in our understanding of this theory and work continues in an effort to learn how to develop improved calculations. The list below is meant to indicate areas where the applications of perturbative QCD have not yet been able to satisfactorily describe existing data or where more work (theoretical or experimental)remains to be done.
A word of warning - do not despair if your favorite measurement, calculation, or project is not included here. We expect these lists to be dynamic - changing as new developments and better understanding take place. So, please feel free to submit your comments or suggestions for new entries on the list to email@example.com.
This list is meant to provide newcomers with entry points to the literature. Of course, they may also prove useful for those wishing a quick refresher on one or more of the topics. Without further adieu, here iut is:
